More Personal Records

Seems like Adam (mi amigo loco from Digital Freezer) has been on a fitness kicked as of late. He's keen on shedding a couple of layers of chub and has been hitting the gym.

This week we were chatting and he mentioned he was cranking out 300lb sets on the leg press.

Which, of course, made me think: If ADAM can do it, why can't I?

So today, I hit the inclined leg press machine for the first time in my life. And I cranked out 200 pounds, without any problems. 15 reps. Since I didn't want to have chunks of meat shooting out of my shorts, I kept it there. But I think I can jump to 250lbs with no problems. And get up to 300 in a week or three without blowing a disk.

By then, I'm sure Adam will be on to 400. But he's got his records, and I've got mine.

On a side note, I'm on Phase Two of my training program. My third week of eight. The first two weeks were fairly easy, but thorough. This new phase is more challenging. I've peeked at the next workout (Monday) and it includes 55lb dumbbell bench presses. I've never done 55lbs. I've done 50, but never 55. But I'm going to try it. And I think I can crank out 10 reps. Or die trying.
